2023 The Year Ahead

Here we are back at into the new year.

Yours truly is back at the helm again for another year. Last year went pretty smoothly I think.

We also welcome some new members to the club and the hobby.

I have uploaded the 2023 show schedule for your perusal. You can use the events to add them into your google or iphone calendars.

ANBC Nationals are being held in Ballarat this year. Check out ANBC or BCV’s websites for more information.

The first cab out of the ranks for this year is the State Show & Derby. This event is run by WABC and hosted by Metropolitan Budgerigar Club this year.

Benching is from 10:00am and judging will commence at 11:00. Unfortunately you won’t be able to view the birds while judging is in progress. There will be people to talk too and things too see. There will be food and hot  and cold drinks available from the canteen on the day. You can buy seed and various accessories as well at club prices.

Come down and say hello. If your a member then why not enter some of your birds and see how they go!  Classes cover all varieties and all levels of experience, junior, novice, intermediate and open classes. We have you covered!

If the temperature is 36C or above the show will be cancelled. Please check with the club if you are unsure.

See you on the day.

Annual Auction 2022

Another very successful day over and done with for another year.

We had 95 lots offered for auction and 29 registered bidders. There was plenty of varieties to choose from. This was a great opportunity to obtain some very nice birds.

The records of the day was for a Sky Blue maiden hen selling for $600. The average price being around $130 per bird. I believe this was a very reasonable price for the quality of birds on offer.

The canteen had fresh sandwiches, hamburgers made to order, cakes and chocolates. And of course the usual tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Thank you everyone who helped make the day the great success it was.
